One of the exciting things about our work is having the opportunity to travel to capture location footage. Most recently, our clients at Wirestone and HP sent us to Sao Paulo, Brazil! It was our first time south of the equator, and we made the best of it!

Since none of us remembered much of our grade school geography, we were surprised to find out that Brazil is a gigantic country, and about 14 hours by plane from Colorado. Ready for the long haul (pillow, blanket, headphones, and eye covers), we loaded up our gear and jumped on a flight.  As you can see we were traveling lite.

When we arrived early the next morning (all night flight), it was a beautiful day in Brazil! Not wasting any time, we forgot about sleep and instead headed out to try the local cuisine and scout our first shoot location.

Now to get to work! Our clients at HP have just completed a $1.2 billion project with the largest banking institution in Brazil, Itau. The project included hardware and IT services to store and run the bank’s financial systems, housed in a state-of-the-art, brand new facility on the outskirts of Sao Paulo. Such a momentous and successful project needed to be documented, so Wirestone and HP called us in to tell the story.

Now, you might be thinking, “Isn’t it expensive to send a video crew ?” Or… “Couldn’t you just hire a local crew?  So why might you want to send your video vendor?

  • Reliability – Our client knew they could count on us to get the job done the way they wanted.
  • Quality – Our client knew the quality of our footage would meet their high standards
  • Comfort – We have a great relationship and rapport and proven record of success with out clients.

These are just a few of the reasons you might want to consider sending your video vendor rather than hiring a local crew. On a video project which already involves a lot of distance, complicated logistics, and a limited window for success, why introduce any other unknowns into the equation?

After a week of shooting in Brazil, it was time for us to go. Although Sao Paulo afforded us a wonderful time meeting new people, experiencing a new culture, and working in a new and different environment, we were ready for home. So long Brazil!
